Loyalist Summer Roadtrip

I am loving my province this summer. Hot, hot hot! I recently got back from a five day road trip that kicked off in Prince Edward County, meandered along the Empire Loyalist Parkway to Kingston and ended in Ottawa. I saw things I’d always wanted to see, white water, islands, a castle, fine foodie establishments and the Diefenbunker. Never underestimate what is in your own backyard!

Stopped at Hinterland for bubbly. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Way before confederation, Kingston was our capitol. Lasted until 1844. Remember your passport! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Our digs in Ottawa? Chateau Laurier. To really chill, we went to a hot spot during the Cold War, Carp. Ont. The Diefenbunker was built in 1959 and thankfully never used for its original purpose…protection during a nuclear attack. Actually very chilly 75 feet down.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
